Responsibilities

• Lead inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Assess building plans and specifications for adherence to local codes.
• Provide recommendations for design modifications to enhance compliance.
• Engage with community members to discuss building inspection processes.
• Conduct risk assessments for high-traffic or complex building projects.
• Maintain records of inspections and communication with clients.
• Contribute to the development of inspection policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Building Inspections or Civil Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry with relevant inspection experience

Technical Skills

• Expertise in blueprints and technical documents
• Familiarity with safety protocols

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Interpersonal skills

Certifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Project management experience: Experience overseeing construction projects with a focus on quality assurance.
• Familiarity with construction software: Proficiency in using digital tools for project management and documentation.
