Pharmacist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist who is committed to improving public health in the Cape Town area. This role includes collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and providing essential support to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense prescriptions.
• Advise patients on over-the-counter treatments.
• Review medication therapy for effectiveness and safety.
• Engage with patients to build lasting relationships.
• Implement and monitor medication therapy management plans.
• Train and supervise pharmacy technicians.
• Document patient interactions and interventions.
• Participate in professional development and training.
• Conduct patient consultations and follow-ups.
• Support drug utilization reviews and patient education.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting

Technical Skills

• Pharmaceutical Knowledge
• Medication Management Systems

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Customer Service

Certifications

• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in clinical pharmacy practice: Background in providing clinical pharmacy services or working in a hospital setting.
• Familiarity with medication therapy management programs: Knowledge in managing and reviewing patients' medications for efficacy and safety.
