Personal Care Aide

Job Description

As a Personal Care Aide, your role involves providing compassionate support to individuals recovering from illness or injury. You will assist with daily activities, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Delivering compassionate care to patients.
• Supporting patients with their hygiene needs.
• Maintaining safety standards to prevent infections.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop care plans.
• Encouraging patient participation in their care.
• Engaging patients in social activities and providing companionship.
• Documenting changes in patient conditions accurately.
• Follow-up with care protocols and established guidelines.
• Administering basic first aid when necessary.
• Gathering and reporting patient feedback for quality improvement.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program completion preferred

Experience

• Prior experience in patient care roles is a plus.

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification

• Fluency in additional South African languages: Ability to communicate in languages such as Zulu or Xhosa is a plus.
