Offset Lithographic Press Setter

Job Description

The Offset Lithographic Press Setter plays a critical role in the print production process, responsible for setting up and maintaining lithographic presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of color calibration and press operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire print production process from setup to finishing.
• Maintain ink density and colour consistency throughout the production runs.
• Identify and correct operational issues to maximize uptime.
• Ensure compliance with quality control measures and processes.
• Assist in developing new processes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with the design team to achieve desired print outcomes.
• Conduct training sessions for new staff on press operations.
• Implement best practices for waste reduction and resource management.
• Manage inventory of printing supplies and materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the pressroom.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Relevant technical qualification in printing or graphic arts is advantageous

Experience

• At least 5 years of proven experience in lithographic press operations

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Digital Printing Technology
• Operational Software Proficiency

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
