Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are searching for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintenance activities in our Durban facility. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment reliability, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance projects and oversee their successful execution.
• Evaluate and recommend external contractors for specialized maintenance.
• Document all maintenance work thoroughly in the maintenance management system.
• Stay updated with the latest engineering technologies and practices.
• Assist in budget preparation for maintenance operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards in all maintenance work.
• Coordinate with supply chain for parts inventory control.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Additional certifications in mechanical maintenance are advantageous

Experience

• 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment

Technical Skills

• Pneumatics and Hydraulics
• Preventive Maintenance Practices

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• ISO Standards Training

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
