Payroll Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Durban team. This role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with South African regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll systems and excellent attention to detail, supporting the HR team in various administrative tasks associated with payroll management.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with local tax legislation and employment laws.
• Maintain and update payroll records and employee data.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of payroll reports.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee queries.
• Collaborate with the HR department for new hire documentation and payroll onboarding.
• Conduct regular audits of the payroll process for accuracy and compliance.
• Equip staff with information regarding company benefits and deductions.
• Monitor and provide input on payroll-related policies and procedures.
• Assist in the annual review and audits of payroll systems.

Requirements

Education

• Advanced diploma or degree in Human Resources or Finance
• Certification in Payroll Management is an advantage.

Experience

• 5+ years of payroll experience with a strong understanding of South African tax legislation
