Job Description

We are seeking a talented Food Batchmaker (Confectioner) to join our team at XYZ Bakery. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in creating and decorating a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and chocolates, while adhering to our high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality baked goods, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to refine production processes.
  • Keep track of supplies and assist in inventory management.
  • Engage with customers for special orders and requests.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss product development ideas.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment.
  • Support and train new employees on best baking practices.
  • Create visually appealing displays and presentation for products.
  • Document production processes and recipe adjustments.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Diploma in Culinary Arts or Confectionery
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a bakery or confectionery environment.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of baking techniques

Certifications
  • Food Safety Certification (e.g., FSSC 22000)
