Job Description

Join our expert team as a Structural Engineer where you will design and oversee building structures that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD software and a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed documents and drawings for projects.
• Ensure structural designs are innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable.
• Implement best practices in structural engineering based on project specifications.
• Review project designs for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Lead team meetings to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
• Evaluate potential site locations and provide input on environmental impacts.
• Foster collaboration among project stakeholders to achieve project success.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding technical specifications and engineering solutions.
• Provide training to junior engineers on best practices and tools.
• Keep records of all structural calculations and project modifications.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Certification in Structural Engineering is a bonus

Experience

• 5+ years' experience in structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Revit
• MATLAB

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) designation
• PMP Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with Earthquake-Resistant Structures: In-depth understanding of seismic design requirements.
• Familiarity with 3D Modeling Tools: Experience using 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or Rhino.
