Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Nurse to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will provide nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans, monitor patient status, and administer medications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient health status through ongoing assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Manage intravenous therapies and care.
• Educate patients on medication management and compliance.
• Observe and intervene in emergency situations as necessary.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Actively engage in continuous professional education opportunities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist in the training of new nursing staff.
• Support research initiatives when applicable.

Requirements

Education

• Registered Nurse qualification
• Postgraduate diploma in Nursing is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting

Technical Skills

• IV Therapy
• Medication Administration

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Infection Control Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate effectively in both languages enhances patient interactions.
• Experience with healthcare audits: Knowledge of compliance and quality improvement strategies in healthcare settings.
