Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

Join our compassionate team as a Veterinary Surgeon based in Bloemfontein. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a range of animal conditions, performing surgeries, and collaborating with our veterinary technicians. Ideal candidates should have a love for animals and a commitment to providing quality care.

Responsibilities

• Carry out surgeries and other medical procedures with confidence and skill.
• Evaluate and analyze laboratory results and imaging to assist in diagnosis.
• Advise and support clients regarding preventive health care for their pets.
• Work alongside veterinary nurses and support staff for optimal team function.
• Research and implement new treatments and techniques.
• Support the clinic's outreach efforts in the local community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent
• Further postgraduate studies related to specialty are advantageous

Experience

• 5 years or more in the veterinary practice

Certifications

• Veterinary Internal Medicine Certification
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Experience with exotic animals: Ability to handle and treat exotic animals is a plus.
