Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cytogenetic Technologist to perform advanced genetic testing and analyses. The ideal candidate will have expertise in karyotyping, FISH, and microarray analysis, ensuring high-quality results for clinical diagnosis and research.

Responsibilities

• Execute chromosomal analyses utilizing karyotyping, FISH, and microarray technologies.
• Implement strict protocols for quality assurance and maintain compliance with industry standards.
• Document and analyze data generated during testing and contribute to laboratory reports.
• Educate fellow staff on new advancements in cytogenetics and testing methodologies.
• Participate in laboratory meetings to discuss findings and ongoing projects.
• Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure adequate materials are available for testing.
• Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Review and update laboratory procedures to ensure best practices are followed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Genetics
• Certified Cytogenetic Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical cytogenetics laboratory
