Job Description

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be instrumental in promoting a culture of safety within our organization. Key duties involve assessing health risks, ensuring compliance with legislation, and leading safety awareness initiatives to protect our teams and patients.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies in accordance with South African regulations.
• Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections.
• Facilitate safety training programs for staff to promote awareness and compliance.
• Assess workplace hazards and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
• Prepare and submit health and safety reports to management.
• Serve as the point of contact for external health inspections and audits.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with various departments to promote health and safety initiatives.
• Stay updated on changes in health and safety legislation affecting the healthcare sector.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• NEBOSH certification is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in health and safety within a healthcare environment
