Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will perform surgeries and medical procedures, diagnose animal health problems, and provide high-quality care to our furry patients. Ideal candidates should have a passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgeries and medical procedures on a variety of animals.
• Diagnose and treat various animal health issues.
• Administer medications and vaccines to patients.
• Conduct veterinary examinations and follow-up visits.
• Educate pet owners on animal care and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure high-quality care.
• Stay updated on veterinary best practices and advancements.
• Assist with emergency veterinary situations as needed.
• Participate in continued education and training programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent
• Specialization in Surgery is considered an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of veterinary practice experience.

Advantageous

• Experience with advanced surgical techniques: Beneficial to have experience with orthopaedic surgery.
