Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will perform surgeries and medical procedures, diagnose animal health problems, and provide high-quality care to our furry patients. Ideal candidates should have a passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Surgical interventions for both routine and complex cases.
  • Evaluate patient health history and medical records.
  • Collaborate on developing comprehensive health care plans.
  • Advocate for animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
  • Participate in community education programs about pet health.
  • Engage with pet owners to ensure adherence to treatment and prevention protocols.
  • Conduct follow-up consultations to monitor recovery.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the practice.
  • Assist in research or clinical trials when necessary.
  • Evaluate and implement new veterinary technologies and treatments.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent
  • Specialization in Surgery is considered an advantage
Experience
  • 3-5 years of veterinary practice experience.
