Job Description

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our innovative team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud solutions that enhance our operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in cloud computing and DevOps practices, with a talent for troubleshooting and optimizing complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud architecture and solutions for various applications.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Automate deployment processes using CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
• Monitor performance and ensure the security of cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions effectively.
• Resolve cloud infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation of cloud systems and processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Cloud Computing
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management

Technical Skills

• Google Cloud Platform
• Kubernetes

Certifications

• Google Cloud Professional Architect
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure management: Hands-on experience with Terraform for automated provisioning.
