We are seeking a skilled Urban Planner to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of urban planning projects, focusing on sustainability and community engagement. You will collaborate with local government, developers, and community stakeholders to create well-designed urban spaces.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategic urban development plans focusing on sustainability and community input.
• Assist in drafting local policies and guidelines for urban projects.
• Evaluate project outcomes and propose improvements to enhance urban environments.
• Facilitate workshops and community engagement sessions to gather public input.
• Utilize urban planning software and tools for project management and design.
• Conduct research to stay updated on best practices in urban planning.
• Prepare detailed documentation for planning applications.
• Advise clients on zoning regulations and planning statutes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or equivalent
• Master's degree in Urban Studies is preferred

Experience

• 4-6 years of relevant experience in urban planning or development projects
