Desktop Support Specialist

Job Description

Join our tech-savvy team in Bloemfontein as a Desktop Support Specialist! You will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, managing user requests, and delivering excellent IT support. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support for desktop environments including hardware installation and repair.
• Troubleshoot software issues, including compatibility and performance problems.
• Assist users with configuration and setup of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
• Document and track issues within the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with network teams to ensure optimal connectivity.
• Help users with password resets and account access issues.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
• Provide training and orientation for new users on systems and applications.
• Participate in ongoing IT projects and initiatives.
• Implement and maintain IT security protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Information Technology or related field
• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in desktop support or technical support
