Job Description

As an Urban Planner with us, you will contribute to transformative projects that enhance the quality of life in Durban. You will collaborate with governmental bodies and private stakeholders to develop land use proposals, perform environmental impact assessments, and promote community-centered designs. A background in urban studies or environmental science is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement urban design strategies that enhance community livability.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets for planning initiatives.
  • Prepare and present urban plans to zoning boards and city councils.
  • Create visual representations of proposals using drafting and design software.
  • Foster relationships with local businesses and community organizations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning or Environmental Engineering is advantageous
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in land use planning or environmental regulation
