Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat a range of conditions in various animals.
• Implement vaccination and preventative health programs.
• Provide client education on health, nutrition, and welfare.
• Assist in the mentorship of junior veterinarians and interns.
• Conduct health checks for shelter animals before adoption.
• Engage in community outreach programs to promote animal welfare.
• Stay current with veterinary advancements and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
• Specialization in a specific area of veterinary medicine is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of practical experience including emergency care

Technical Skills

• Emergency Medicine
• Radiology

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Crisis Management

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)
• Pet CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
