Home Health Aide

Job Description

As a Home Health Aide, you'll provide essential support to clients in their homes. This includes assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily tasks, offering companionship and emotional support. Your role is crucial to ensuring our clients feel safe and cared for.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for clients.
• Assist with daily living activities and promote independence.
• Monitor client’s health and report changes to the supervisor.
• Maintain a tidy living space for clients.
• Document and report care activities as per guidelines.
• Work closely with a multi-disciplinary care team.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Training as a Nursing Assistant is a plus

Experience

• Experience in home care or a similar setting is preferred

Technical Skills

• Medication management
• Mobility assistance

Soft Skills

• Patience
• Teamwork

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with special needs clients: Background in providing care to clients with special needs.
• Proficiency in a second language: Being able to communicate in Afrikaans or Xhosa is a plus.
