Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Worker to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support to children aged 0-5 years in a nurturing environment. Your role will involve engaging children in educational activities, ensuring their safety, and communicating effectively with parents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a positive, nurturing environment for children.
• Perform daily assessments of children's developmental progress.
• Create fun and educational programs that stimulate learning.
• Guide children in developing social and life skills.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Engage with parents to foster a supportive community.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Degree in Child Psychology or related field is advantageous

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a childcare setting

Technical Skills

• Early Childhood Education Techniques
• Behavior Management

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Teamwork

Certifications

• First Aid and Safety Training
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluency in Afrikaans or another local language: Ability to communicate with children and families in their preferred language.
• Organizational skills for lesson planning: Ability to plan and organize engaging and educational activities.
