Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our vibrant team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and a strong background in veterinary medicine. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat a variety of animal species.
• Conduct minor and major surgical procedures.
• Implement treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Provide client education on pet health and nutrition.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of veterinary professionals.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.
• Participate in continuing education and training workshops.

Requirements

Education

• BVSc or relevant veterinary degree
• Postgraduate qualifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mixed animal practice

Technical Skills

• Anesthesia Management
• Emergency Care

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)

Languages

• Afrikaans: Conversational
• English: Fluent
