Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Agent to manage our logistics operations in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating shipments, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee freight forwarding operations including booking cargo space and managing shipments.
• Ensure all logistics activities comply with legal and company standards.
• Monitor transportation costs and suggest improvements.
• Prepare and maintain freight cost estimates and budgets.
• Assist in the negotiation of freight contracts with carriers.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance efficiency in logistics operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans.
• Train new staff in logistics procedures and responsibilities.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators for logistics operations.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business Administration is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in logistics and supply chain management
