We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing risks and determining insurance policy terms to ensure sound decision-making. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the insurance industry and has a knack for analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications and determine eligibility.
• Negotiate terms and conditions directly with clients when necessary.
• Provide expert advice to clients on policy coverage and risk management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents.
• Utilize technology to streamline underwriting processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulations affecting the industry.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Master's degree in Finance or Risk Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of insurance underwriting experience

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Statistical Analysis

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Registered Insurance Underwriter (RIU)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
