Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Bloemfontein. You will be responsible for providing excellent medical care to pets, performing surgeries, and interacting with pet owners to provide the best care possible. Ideal candidates are compassionate, skilled, and committed to improving animal health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations of animals and diagnose health conditions.
• Perform surgical procedures, including routine spaying/neutering, exploratory surgery, and dental care.
• Administer vaccinations and medical treatments as necessary.
• Collaborate with a team of veterinary technicians and assistants.
• Educate pet owners on health, nutrition, and care.
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
• Stay updated on the latest veterinary practices and advancements.
• Participate in continuing education and training sessions.
• Manage and oversee the operation of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualifications in a specialised area is advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years working in a veterinary practice, preferably with surgical experience.

Certifications

• Veterinary Medicine Degree from an accredited institution
• Basic Life Support for Animals Certification

• Familiarity with veterinary software: Experience using veterinary management software such as VetVision or similar.
