Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Mining Engineer to be part of our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and overseeing mining operations, ensuring they are safe and efficient. This role requires an individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for the mining industry. You will work closely with geologists, surveyors, and other engineers to optimize our mining processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mining methods for safety and efficiency.
• Conduct risk assessments for various mining operations.
• Implement best practices in mineral exploration and extraction.
• Utilize software for modeling, simulation, and optimization.
• Collaborate with environmental teams to minimize environmental impact.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
• Support project management by providing technical advice.
• Continuously evaluate operational performance for improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline
• Postgraduate qualification preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in mining operations or engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Mineral processing techniques

Certifications

Languages
