As an Insurance Underwriter at our Durban office, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating risk for various insurance policies. You'll use your analytical skills to determine coverage terms and ensure the needs of our clients are met accurately. A proactive approach is essential as you collaborate with brokers and clients to provide tailored insurance solutions. We seek someone who excels in customer service and has a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client profiles and risk factors to determine underwriting guidelines.
• Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
• Monitor ongoing risks associated with active policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the underwriting process.
• Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes impacting underwriting.
• Assist in training junior staff on underwriting principles and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Postgraduate studies are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance underwriting field

Certifications

• Professional Risk Manager (PRM)
