Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Insurance Underwriter, where you'll evaluate insurance applications and make decisions that protect our clients and our business. This role requires excellent judgment, communication skills, and a thorough understanding of the insurance market.

Responsibilities

• Determine underwriting standards for various types of insurance.
• Evaluate claims and losses to improve future underwriting decisions.
• Assist in the development of training materials for new underwriters.
• Conduct risk analysis and prepare recommendations for management.
• Review and modify pricing structures based on market changes.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to underwriting.
• Collaborate with external partners to enhance product offerings.
• Participate in audits and reviews of underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting, preferably in commercial lines

• Risk Assessment

Certifications

• CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor)
• ARM (Associate in Risk Management)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Proficiency in underwriting software: Experience using underwriting software applications.
