Data Scientist

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Data Scientist who can leverage analytical tools to tackle challenging problems and deliver actionable insights that drive business performance and enhance customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Gather and preprocess data from various sources to ensure quality.
• Implement machine learning algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Document and communicate methodologies and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop dashboards and reports for key metrics tracking.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to determine project directions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science or related field
• Masters or relevant certifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis or a related field

Technical Skills

• Python
• R and/or SAS
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Machine Learning Techniques
• Data Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI)

Soft Skills

• Critical thinking
• Effective collaboration

Certifications

• Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes: Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration of applications.
• Experience in Agile environments: Proficiency in working within Agile methodologies.
