Veterinarian

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Veterinarian to join our Kimberley practice. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animals, conducting routine check-ups, vaccinations, and emergency care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat health problems in animals.
• Perform dental cleanings and other preventative services.
• Conduct surgery as necessary and provide post-operative care.
• Stay abreast of advancements in veterinary medicine.
• Participate in community outreach to promote animal health.
• Prepare and maintain surgical and medical instruments.
• Build rapport with clients to foster long-term relationships.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Science is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of diverse experience in veterinary practice

Technical Skills

• Clinical pathology
• Emergency care

Soft Skills

• Time management
• Leadership

Certifications

• Veterinary License
• Fear Free Certified Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in mixed practice: Competence in treating both small and large animals in a veterinary setting.
• Knowledge of behavioural sciences: Understanding of animal behaviour and psychology for better treatment.
