Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Actuary to join our growing team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for using mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in insurance, finance, and other sectors. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise and a strong understanding of economic and financial principles to create effective strategies and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex financial data to identify trends.
• Develop pricing models to optimize risk management for insurance products.
• Create detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
• Consult with business units to understand key business drivers and needs.
• Assess the financial impact of new products and services.
• Evaluate regulatory changes and their implications on pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with underwriters to assist with risk evaluation.
• Perform model validation and sensitivity analysis.
• Continuously enhance existing actuarial models to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics
• Professional Actuarial certification (e.g., ASSA, SOA) is preferred

• 3+ years of experience in actuarial analysis and modeling
