Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Actuary to join our growing team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for using mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in insurance, finance, and other sectors. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise and a strong understanding of economic and financial principles to create effective strategies and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial projects and manage data analysis processes.
• Utilize statistical software and tools to analyze financial data.
• Train junior actuaries and analysts on best practices.
• Contribute to the development of strategic plans across the organization.
• Ensure accuracy in reporting and documentation.
• Identify market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the implementation of new software systems.
• Provide ongoing support and advice to various business units.
• Perform thorough preliminary reviews of actuarial calculations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics
• Professional Actuarial certification (e.g., ASSA, SOA) is preferred

• 3+ years of experience in actuarial analysis and modeling
