Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Chemical Engineer to join our Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical processes and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing chemical production methods.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new chemical products and processes.
• Implement quality control measures and conduct regular testing.
• Work closely with R&D to bring new products to market.
• Lead process optimization initiatives to reduce costs.
• Train and supervise production staff on new processes.
• Assist in scaling up processes from laboratory to production scale.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry

• Chemical Process Optimization
• Laboratory Techniques

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS): Experience in implementing quality assurance processes.
• Experience in team leadership and mentorship: Proven ability to guide and develop junior engineers.
