Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our vibrant team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and recommending policies that meet the needs of our clients while ensuring profitability.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze insurance applications and supporting documents.
• Set pricing strategies based on assessed risks and underwriting guidelines.
• Engage with clients to discuss coverage options and policy specifics.
• Monitor and review claims to ensure they are valid and comply with established criteria.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriters as necessary.
• Utilize underwriting software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certification in insurance is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry

• Underwriting Guidelines Knowledge

• Insurance Institute of SA Certifications
• Fellow of the Insurance Institute (FII)

Languages
