Job Description

Our veterinary clinic in Bloemfontein is on the lookout for a skilled Veterinary Surgeon. You'll be tasked with performing medical procedures, advising clients on general animal care, and ensuring the clinic runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will excel in a team environment and have a genuine passion for animal health.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and bloodwork.
  • Perform dental procedures including cleanings and extractions.
  • Consult with specialists when necessary for complex cases.
  • Offer post-operative and follow-up care for patients.
  • Monitor animals during recovery from anesthesia.
  • Collaborate with a team to improve clinic services and practices.
  • Build strong relationships with pet owners and their animals.
  • Educate clients on pet health and wellness.
  • Assist with clinic management and staff scheduling.
  • Stay informed about new trends in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Veterinary Medicine are advantageous
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in general practice preferred
