We are on the lookout for a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will assess risks and determine policy terms for various types of insurance products, ensuring that our clients receive suitable coverage.

Responsibilities

• Analyze statistical data to guide risk decisions.
• Draft underwriting reports summarizing assessments.
• Liaise with other departments to align on insurance policies.
• Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes.
• Recommend changes to underwriting guidelines based on data analysis.
• Ensure compliance with regional regulations and company standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Further qualifications in risk management would be a benefit

Experience

• 3 plus years experience in an insurance role, preferably in underwriting

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)
• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) certification
