Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Social Worker in Durban who is committed to making a difference in the lives of individuals and families. In this role, you will engage with community members, assess needs, and provide support and resources to enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate client needs through interviews and assessments.
  • Consult with professionals in related fields to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop resources for clients facing crises and emergency situations.
  • Guide clients through legal and social systems to access benefits.
  • Advise on community programs and initiate partnerships for resource sharing.
  • Document all interactions in the client record management system accurately.
  • Provide training for community members to identify social needs.
  • Review case files to ensure compliance with funding and reporting requirements.
  • Engage in self-care and seek supervision to maintain professional boundaries.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in community services or social work
