IT Support Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT systems and a passion for helping users resolve tech issues. You will be supporting our clients with troubleshooting, installations, and network management.

Responsibilities

• Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support
• Identify and fix technical issues with hardware and software
• Set up new user workstations and ensure they meet company standards
• Assist in network administration and troubleshooting
• Ensure regular backups of critical data are conducted
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
• Prepare reports on IT performance metrics
• Assist in the development of IT policies and procedures
• Support IT in implementing new technologies and upgrades
• Assist with data migration and system upgrades

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Information Technology or relevant field
• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in IT support or similar role

Technical Skills

• Linux OS
• Help Desk Software

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Customer Service

Certifications

• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with virtual machines: Understanding of virtual machine technologies for troubleshooting and setup.
• Basic scripting skills: Ability to write scripts for automating tasks is a plus.
