We are seeking a Livestock Commission Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in livestock sales, with a strong ability to connect with farmers and buyers alike.
Responsibilities
Actively seek out new livestock buyers and sellers to expand the client base.
Assess livestock quality and market value to determine appropriate commission rates.
Maintain accurate documentation of sales transactions, contracts, and interactions with clients.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide suitable solutions.
Resolve any issues or disputes that may arise during or after sales transactions.
Participate in industry events and trade shows to promote company services.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize sales strategies.
Monitor and report on industry trends and competitor activities.
Utilize technology platforms for reporting and communication.
Train and mentor junior staff on sales processes and livestock management.
Requirements
Education
Post-secondary qualification in agriculture or sales management preferred
Experience
3+ years of experience in livestock sales with strong market knowledge
