Tax Accountant

Job Description

We seek a meticulous Tax Accountant to join our Pretoria office. You will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert advice to clients. This role requires a solid understanding of tax laws and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive management.
• Collaborate with the finance department to ensure seamless integration of accounting and tax processes.
• Train and mentor junior staff on tax compliance and reporting practices.
• Respond to tax-related inquiries from clients and stakeholders.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Masters in Taxation is preferable

Experience

• 5+ years in a Taxation role

Technical Skills

• Income Tax Law
• Financial Reporting

Soft Skills

• Analytical Mindset
• Client Management

Certifications

• SAICA Registration
• Tax Consultant Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Advanced Excel: Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling and complex calculations.
• Knowledge of Tax Software: Experience with tax software applications such as TaxCloud or TaxAct.
