Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and conducting regular safety audits.

Responsibilities

• Review and update health and safety policies regularly.
• Conduct health and safety audits and inspections.
• Provide guidance and support to staff on safety concerns.
• Analyze incident reports for trends and areas of improvement.
• Collaborate with external agencies for compliance checks.
• Participate in safety committee meetings.
• Assist in the development of training materials.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in the engineering or manufacturing sector
