As an Architect at our firm in Cape Town, you will contribute to a variety of exciting projects that challenge conventional design norms. You will work closely with a diverse group of professionals, including engineers and interior designers, to create cohesive and thoughtful architectural solutions. Responsibilities

  • Lead the project planning and design phases, ensuring that client needs are met.
  • Prepare architectural presentations for stakeholders and public hearings.
  • Utilize software tools for architectural design and visualization, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Engage with clients to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new projects to assess location and constraints.
  • Oversee the quality of work produced by design teams and contractors.
  • Coordinate with local authorities for necessary permits and approvals.
  • Participate in design charettes with clients and community groups.
  • Develop construction documents detailing the scope of work and specifications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in architecture.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related discipline
  • Master's degree in Architecture is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years in an architectural design role with project management experience
Technical Skills
  • Building codes compliance
  • Environmental design
Soft Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Negotiation skills
Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Civil Engineering Registration is a plus
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of 3D rendering software: Experience with tools like Lumion or 3ds Max for creating visualizations.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale commercial projects: Have led or significantly contributed to sizeable architectural projects.
