Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Animal Welfare Specialist to join our dedicated team in Durban. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive veterinary care and advocacy. Your passion for animal welfare will guide your interactions with both animals and the community.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine check-ups and emergency veterinary services as needed.
• Coordinate with local authorities on animal welfare policies.
• Contribute to research and analysis for animal welfare improvement.
• Provide training and support for junior staff and volunteers.
• Engage with the community to raise awareness of animal welfare issues.
• Assist in the rescue and rehabilitation of injured or abused animals.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or related field
• Master's degree in Animal Welfare is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in animal care or welfare settings
