Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Food Scientist to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in food technology and science, focusing on product development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in innovating food solutions that meet industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop innovative food formulations and processes.
• Monitor quality control measures to meet food safety standards.
• Conduct competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Document and manage sample submissions for testing and approval.
• Collaborate with suppliers on ingredient development.
• Maintain records of product testing and compliance.
• Advise on regulatory changes impacting product lines.
• Lead projects from concept through to production.
• Conduct shelf-life studies and sensory evaluations.
• Engage with customers for feedback on product performance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field
• Postgraduate diploma in Food Technology is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years in product development or food manufacturing
