Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of complex mechanical systems in our Port Elizabeth office. This position requires a detail-oriented engineer capable of solving problems and improving existing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed engineering drawings and models.
• Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
• Train junior engineers and interns as needed.
• Assist in the selection of materials and components.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Advanced degrees or certifications in specialized areas are a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design or analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Effective communication
• Decision making

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Certification in Robotics or Automation is advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with renewable energy systems: Working knowledge of mechanical systems used in sustainable energy applications.
• Proficient in Matlab: Capability to use Matlab for simulation and analysis.
