Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in our Johannesburg restaurant. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards, manage kitchen staff effectively, and maintain inventory and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of kitchen operations and staff training.
  • Ensure menu quality, presentation, and taste consistency.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and supplier negotiations.
  • Facilitate a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Drive innovation in menu development and recipe execution.
  • Address and resolve any kitchen issues or staff concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with management on special events and promotions.
  • Monitor food waste and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Engage and motivate kitchen staff for ongoing performance improvements.
  • Maintain communication with front-of-house staff for smooth operations.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Culinary Arts
  • Certification in Food Safety Management is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years managing a kitchen team in a busy restaurant.
