Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Sheriff's Officer to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing court orders and ensuring the safe and secure transport of prisoners. You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to think on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Execute legal orders as directed by the courts.
• Ensure the safety of prisoners during transport.
• Assist legal professionals in the execution of court orders.
• Maintain a clear and detailed log of activities.
• Respond swiftly to incidents and emergencies.
• Conduct security assessments at public events.
• Testify in legal proceedings when necessary.
• Build rapport with community members to reinforce trust in law enforcement.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Diploma in Law Enforcement or Security Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Technical Skills

• CCTV monitoring experience
• Intermediate computer skills

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Advanced First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Training in advanced negotiation skills: Skills in negotiation that can aid in conflict de-escalation.
• Experience driving armoured response vehicles: Proven capability to operate vehicles for secure transport.
