Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Specialist to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs aimed at promoting community wellness and disease prevention. You will also collaborate with various stakeholders, including local health departments and NGOs, to improve health services and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct public health research and assessments to identify community needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate public health programs and interventions.
• Collaborate with health department officials and community organizations.
• Analyze and interpret epidemiological data to inform program development.
• Develop informative materials and resources for public health campaigns.
• Provide training and support to community health workers.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of public health initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years in health program management or community outreach

Certifications

• Public Health Associate Certification (PHAC)
