Job Description

We're seeking a compassionate and qualified Veterinarian to join our team at the Local Veterinary Clinic in Port Elizabeth. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing preventive care. The ideal candidate will work closely with pet owners to promote the best practices for animal health and welfare.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose illnesses.
• Perform surgeries and handle emergencies as needed.
• Keep up-to-date on new treatments and technologies in veterinary medicine.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment options.
• Manage the medication inventory and ensure proper use.
• Mentor junior staff and interns in animal care best practices.
• Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patients’ recoveries.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in the clinic.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Specialization in Surgery or Internal Medicine preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary care
