Job Description

The Primary Care Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals, assisting in delivering primary care services. A strong focus on administrative and clinical tasks is essential for ensuring seamless patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake, and record vital signs and medical history accurately.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Organize patient schedules and coordinate appointments.
  • Keep all medical records organized and up to date.
  • Support healthcare staff during patient examinations and minor procedures.
  • Deliver patient education and assist with inquiries related to health topics.
  • Conduct basic lab tests and collect specimens.
  • Manage administrative duties, including billing and claims.
  • Adhere to established protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance skills.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Medical Assistance or equivalent qualification
  • Valid CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in primary care settings
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations

Certifications
  • HPCSA Registration
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous
