Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and working closely with pet owners to educate them on proper animal care. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of animal health and welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose animal health issues through examinations and tests.
  • Perform surgeries, as well as post-operative care.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners about their animal's health.
  • Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Support and mentor veterinary interns or junior staff.
  • Engage with the local community on animal health initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.

Requirements

Education
  • DVM with specialization in Surgery preferred
  • Postgraduate qualifications are a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
