Job Description

As a Canal Equipment Mechanic, you'll handle the maintenance and repair of essential canal equipment, from pumps to control systems. Your work will help uphold water distribution standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols, making you a key player in our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair canal equipment, ensuring optimal operational functionality.
  • Quickly identify and troubleshoot issues while implementing effective solutions.
  • Document maintenance procedures and work performed accurately.
  • Work together with procurement to ensure adequate stock of parts and tools.
  • Support the engineering team with feedback on equipment performance and reliability.
  • Train apprentices and junior staff in maintenance techniques and safety practices.
  • Conduct safety audits on equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members regarding project status and challenges.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Education
  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a similar industry.
